Fireplaces and fire for the terrace

The traditional garden fireplace works a lot like a woodstove – except, that it is used outside. The fireplace is made of metal that retains heat. Additionally, the fireplaces are a little big and are, therefore, better suited on slightly larger terraces or in the garden.

Prices start from £95.

Outdoor bio fireplaces

Bio fireplaces burn on bioethanol and are an obvious choice for a fireplace for the small terraces and especially for balconies in apartments. The bio fireplaces do not emit smoke or soot. Therefore, they will not irritate neighbours standing on the balcony.

Bio fireplaces are available in many different models and sizes. But if they are supposed to be used outside, the most important thing is to have one that shields the flame from the wind as much as possible. The flames of a bio fireplace are very sensitive to wind. Therefore, they work best when they are protected.

The advantage of a bio fireplace is that it can be used indoors without having to bother with a chimney or exhaust. None of the other fireplace variations can do that. However, the bio fireplace does not provide as much heat as the other types. But if you placed it outside on your table on the terrace you will still feel the warmth and cosiness it illuminates.

Prices begin at around £49.

Outdoor gas fireplaces

Gas fireplaces for the outdoors have become super popular in the last few years. They are often seen at bars and restaurants, heating the outdoor area.

The most popular models are the tall ones with the fire closed inside behind safety glass. However, there are also many other models where you can get an elongated flame or a table with a built-in gas fireplace.

The outdoor gas fireplaces have a relatively low gas consumption and are, therefore, cheap to use. They also offer the option of turning up and down the gas supply. This changes the size of the flames. The vast majority of the models usually use LPG gas cylinders, while a few models can be connected to natural gas or city gas.

Prices start from around £799.

Popular manufacturers of outdoor gas fireplaces are Muztag and Planika.
